Aero Contractors bags ATQ MRO of the year Award December 13, 2021
For the second time in two years, Nigeria’s oldest private airline, Aero Contractors has again clinched the” MRO of the year award” at the Air Transport Quarterly Magazine Industry Awards which took place in Lagos at the weekend.
The Editorial board and Award Committee of the top flying industry magazine nominated the airline for the award following its outstanding maintenance checks on B737 Classics aircraft and other third party repairs, all with track record of perfection.
“With this modest record of achievements in recent time, as oldest airline in the country, we are not in doubt that the management under Captain Abdullahi Mahmood has redefined airline Management in Nigeria despite the seemingly harsh prevailing operating environment.
“We believe the Award will spur the management and the workforce to double efforts in the drive of becoming a reference of excellence not only in Nigeria but in the Continent of Africa”,the publisher, Prince Supo Atobatele said.
Other Airlines honoured at the crowd pulling event include; Arik Air which clinched “resilient airline of the year”,Ibom Air, airline of the year and air peace as market leader.
The Chairman of the event, Mr Chris Aligbe urged recipients not to relent in the drive of giving their best to enhance steady growth of the air transport industry, just as he asked the organizers to look inward in search of deserving individuals past or present that might have contributed to aviation development for recognition.
