Air Mauritius to resume passenger commercial flights from South Africa
Air Mauritius, the flag carrier of Mauritius, suspended all passenger commercial flights from South Africa on 29 November 2021 due to the detection of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in South Africa. Following the decision from the Government of Mauritius to lift the travel ban on South Africa from today (07 January 2022), the airline immediatly reacted and announced the resumption of its passenger commercial flights from Johannesburg in South Africa as from 09 January 2022.
Air Mauritius is planning to operate five weekly flights for the month of January 2022 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays on board an Airbus A350-900/ A330-900neo aircraft. Daily passenger commercial operations to and from Johannesburg have been scheduled as from 01 February 2022.
