Zimbabwe Tourism Authority makes a push for ISO Certification
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) says it is undertaking a transformative journey to improve its quality standards by seeking International Organisation for Standards (ISO) certification.
Addressing journalists, ZTA Acting Chief Executive officer, Mr Givemore Chidzidzi said his organisation has a task of producing world class services that resonate both with local and international tourists. Mr Chidzidzi said, through implementation of better systems for improved experiences, domestic tourism grew in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, signalling the success of initiatives such as the ZimBho concept.
ZTA head of communications, Mr Godfrey Koti said his organisation will continue to work towards improving itself and growing tourism. Tourism is one of the key areas that the Second Republic values, and the quest to have the ZTA ISO certified will ensure that Zimbabwe will grow its tourism sector significantly.
ISO certification is a 3rd party system which identifies companies committed both to quality standards and the quality management systems needed to meet these standards. Achieving and maintaining certification is based on a system of voluntary, independent audits. This accountability helps organizations maintain and improve the quality of their products and services.
