Sudan Airways puts its last Airbus A300 up for sale
Throughout its operations, Sudan Airways has operated up to eleven Airbus A300s, six of which were version 600s. These were either leased or owned.
Sudan Airways will finally part with its last A300-600. The aircraft with the registration number ST-ATB (MSN 666) has been put up for sale, ch-aviation reports.
The tender for the aircraft indicates that the sale also includes two Pratt & Whitney PW4158 engines. Interested parties have until April 10 to submit bids, either for the entire aircraft or for major installed parts.
Tender documents are available in Khartoum for a non-refundable fee of US$1,000.
The aircraft is 29.5 years old and was introduced into the Sudan Airways fleet in May 2006. It has a two-class configuration with 16 seats in Business Class and 249 seats in Economy Class.
Sudan's national airline has suffered from the passage of time since its inception in 1946. The airline now operates only one A320-200 and a 737-500 leased with crew from Alfa Airlines, says ch-aviation's advanced fleet module. The rest of its fleet - including an A320-200, a Boeing 737-300 and two Fokker F50s - is grounded due to lack of maintenance. In 2020, the Sudanese government initiated negotiations with Airbus and Boeing to revitalise the national flag fleet.
