EgyptAir resumes flights to Moscow
EgyptAir has announced the resumption of its scheduled flights to Russia, with the Egyptian flag carrier re-launching its daily service between Cairo and Moscow from 15 April.
On this route, which is operated without competition, EgyptAir is lining up its Boeing 737-800 fleet. Initially, flight MS729 departs Cairo International Airport at 9.30am and arrives at Moscow-Domodedovo International Airport at 3.55pm local time. In the opposite direction, flight MS730 leaves the Russian capital at 16:55 and lands in Cairo at 21:25.
EgyptAir suspended its Russian flights on 17 March. The same week, Royal Air Maroc also froze its Casablanca-Moscow rotation. Air Algerie, for its part, continues to offer a weekly service, every Saturday, between Algiers and Moscow. Since the end of February, several other routes to and from Russia have been suspended due to the military operation in Ukraine and the subsequent Western sanctions against the Russian aviation industry. In turn, Russia has applied reciprocal measures closing its airspace, making flights from Europe to East Asia much longer.
