Corsair announces its return to Mali after a three-year absence
At present, Air France is the only air carrier linking France to Mali. A monopoly that the French flagship will soon have to share with its compatriot Corsair.
Corsair will reopen its Paris Orly - Bamako route on 16 June. In a press release published on Thursday 14 April, the private French airline announced that it will offer three weekly flights (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) between the French and Malian capitals. This will continue until 18 September 2022.
The route will be operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which can accommodate 352 passengers, including 12 in business class, 12 in premium and 328 in economy. Once the service becomes effective, Corsair will compete with Air France, the French state-owned flag carrier.
Corsair will return to Mali less than three years after its departure. Indeed, the private flagship had served it from 30 January 2018 to 15 September 2019. Its return is part of the development of its network. It "will make air transport more accessible at this crucial time of the year, when demand is extremely high, both for personal and family reasons and for professional needs", he says.
Bamako will thus become its third African destination, after Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and Port Louis (Mauritius). The company also flies to Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion, the Dominican Republic and Mayotte. In addition, there are domestic routes from Paris to Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille and Nantes. All these routes are operated with an exclusive fleet of nine A330-300s, with an average age of 7.8 years.
