Angola : Bestfly réceptionne son tout premier Embraer ERJ190 qui sera positionné au Cap Vert
"The delivery of this particular aircraft is very special for us as it is Bestfly's first ERJ190 and the 25th aircraft in our fleet," commented Nuno Pereira, CEO of Bestfly.
ACIA Aero Leasing ("ACIA") has announced the placement of an Embraer ERJ190 with Angola's private airline Bestfly. The delivery took place on Wednesday 27 April at Embraer's Macon, Georgia, reload centre.
The addition of this first ERJ190 marks a major milestone in the growth of Bestfly's fleet, which now consists of 25 aircraft (including helicopters), including three ATR 72-600s also leased by ACIA. In addition, the lessor has been mandated by Bestfly to source a second ERJ190. Speaking on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow in November 2021, Bestfly CEO Nuno Pereira said he was aiming for a fleet of five ERJ190s in the medium term.
"The ERJ190 is a key component of both our companies' growth plans in Africa and beyond. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them [Besfly], adding more aircraft and types as they continue to build the airline," commented Mick Mooney, managing director of ACIA.
The new ERJ190 is in the livery of the Bestfly Cabo Verde subsidiary and will enter service shortly. Bestfly will take advantage of the E-Jet's versatility to establish much needed connectivity from Cape Verde to West Africa and the Azores.
Nuno Pereira, CEO of Bestfly, said: "[This aircraft] consolidates our entry into the scheduled segment. This is a very important step for Bestfly, as we will support the people of Cabo Verde with much needed reliable and efficient connectivity to their market.
As well as being the first E-190 for Bestfly, it is also the first crossover aircraft in ACIA's commercial portfolio - which currently manages more than 50 regional passenger and cargo aircraft leased to operators in more than 18 countries worldwide.
"We can expect much more growth from Bestfly through additional turboprop and regional jet mandates in the very near future as both companies continue to implement their respective business strategies," added Sameer Adam, ACIA's Senior Vice President, Commercial
