NANTA to celebrate World Tourism Day in Uyo
The National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) will join industry stakeholders to celebrate World Tourism Day in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, hosted by Governor Pastor Umo Eno.
The association will also use the occasion to announce its record-breaking solo appearance at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, United Kingdom, for the third time.
NANTA’s Nigerian exhibition will highlight the country’s diverse travel experiences, led by Immediate Past President Mrs. Susan Akporiaye, National First Deputy President Pastor Mrs. Chinyere Umeasiegbu, and President Mr. Yinka Folami.
The trio, along with other members of the WTM core technical promotion team, will attend the NANTA Eastern Zone rotational meeting in Uyo from September 26th to 28th, 2024. Akwa Ibom State, a rising star in Nigeria’s tourism landscape, will be the focus of the meeting. The state boasts a wealth of cultural and historical heritage, including its celebrated gastronomy, pivotal role in Nigeria’s independence and amalgamation history, and a wide range of attractions for international tourists.
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, is passionate about promoting the state’s tourism potential, and has entrusted Commissioner of Tourism Sir Charles Udoh with the responsibility of promoting tourism in the state.
The NANTA team will visit tourism enabling sites and facilities, including the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, the longest coastline in West Africa, and a peaceful environment with a vibrant culture. The World Travel Market NANTA Nigerian Team is eager to showcase Akwa Ibom as a global destination of choice and to underscore the state’s potential in the international travel and tourism market.
The association will also release the 3rd edition of its trade publication, NANTA Magazine, which will spotlight creative and innovative brands, further enhancing Nigeria’s profile in global tourism.
