Airlink increased flights to Maputo and Daresalam
Airlink, the leading regional carrier in South Africa, is thrilled to announce the introduction of an additional daily service to Maputo, Mozambique, effective from 01 October 2024. This strategic move is part of Airlink's ongoing commitment to providing increased connectivity and convenience for its valued customers.
With this new addition, Airlink now proudly operates four flights a day from Monday to Saturday, connecting OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg with Maputo International Airport (MPM) in Maputo. On Sundays, the airline continues to offer two flights, ensuring a consistent service throughout the week.
The additional daily flight is scheduled to depart Johannesburg at 08:05, offering a convenient early morning option for business and leisure travellers alike. Passengers will arrive in Maputo at 09:15, ready to seize the day in Mozambique's vibrant capital city. The return flight is set to depart from Maputo at 09:55, ensuring a swift and efficient journey back to Johannesburg, with an arrival time of 11:00.
This new service is operated by a 98-seat Embraer ERJ 190 AR, a state-of-the-art aircraft known for its comfort, reliability, and fuel efficiency. Airlink is committed to providing its passengers with a superior travel experience, and the Embraer ERJ 190 AR is a testament to this commitment.
In addition to the expanded service to Maputo, Airlink is also pleased to announce the introduction of an additional flight between Johannesburg and Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This service commenced on 21 September 2024, further extending Airlink's network across the African continent.
The additional flight to Dar es Salaam departs Johannesburg every Saturday at 09:40, providing an excellent weekend travel option. Passengers will arrive in Tanzania's largest city at 14:10, giving them ample time to explore or conduct business. The return flight departs Dar es Salaam at 14:50 and arrives back in Johannesburg at 17:35.
With this new service, Airlink now operates daily flights to Tanzania, reinforcing its position as a leading carrier in the region. This expansion is part of Airlink's broader strategy to enhance connectivity and provide more flexible travel options for its customers.
