ET Receives Prestigious Four-Star Global Airline Award
Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s leading aviation group, has been recognized as the recipient of the prestigious Four-Star Global Airline award at the 2025 APEX Passenger Choice Awards.
This honour highlights the airline’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service to its passengers across more than 140 international destinations.
The Four-Star Global Airline award is the highest recognition given by APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) and is based on impartial, third-party passenger feedback and insights collected through APEX’s partnership with TripIt from Concur, the world’s most widely used travel-organizing app.
Over one million Passenger Name Record (PNR) verified flights were rated by passengers across more than 600 airlines globally, utilizing a five-star scale.

The APEX Five Star and Four-Star Airline Awards are independently verified by a professional external auditing company. In 2025, the evaluation criteria have been refined, allowing APEX Five Star to be awarded exclusively to the Top 40 airlines worldwide, a privilege that encompasses less than 7% of rated airlines.
Similarly, APEX Four Star has been streamlined to include the next 50 airlines globally, indicating that only 8% of airlines worldwide meet these stringent criteria.
