Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority to Showcase Unique Offerings at OTM Mumbai 2026 Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority to Showcase Unique Offerings at OTM Mumbai 2026

The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) is gearing up to lead a high-profile delegation at the upcoming Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) Mumbai 2026, scheduled from 5 to 7 February at the prestigious Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India. Positioned at booth PK 200, the MTPA will be joined by key hospitality partners and tourism stakeholders, including Air Mauritius, to amplify Mauritius’ brand visibility and capture a larger share of the lucrative Indian outbound market.

OTM Mumbai stands as Asia’s premier travel trade show, attracting around 15,000 attendees and over 1,000 exhibitors from across the globe. The event offers unparalleled access to India’s vast and dynamic travel market, which remains a critical source of visitors for Mauritius. In 2025 alone, Mauritius welcomed 75,808 Indian tourists, underscoring the importance of sustained engagement with this market.

Visitors to the MTPA booth will have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one meetings with Mauritius’ tourism representatives and industry partners, exploring the island’s diverse offerings—from pristine beaches and luxury resorts to cultural heritage and eco-tourism experiences. Beyond the exhibition floor, the MTPA’s Chairman and Director will conduct strategic work sessions with key tourism actors in Delhi, aiming to deepen partnerships and align marketing efforts.

The presence of Mauritius at OTM 2026 is part of a broader trend, with numerous global tourism boards confirming participation to tap into India’s accelerating outbound travel market. Destinations such as Kenya, South Africa, Morocco, Seychelles, and Tanzania will also be present, highlighting the continent’s growing appeal to Indian travelers and the importance of platforms like OTM for fostering cross-continental tourism collaboration.

For African tourism stakeholders, Mauritius’ active role at OTM Mumbai signals the increasing sophistication and ambition of the continent’s outreach to emerging source markets. The event not only facilitates business development but also strengthens the narrative of Africa as a diverse and accessible destination for Indian travelers seeking unique experiences.

As the Indian outbound market continues to expand, bolstered by improved connectivity and evolving traveler preferences, Mauritius’ strategic participation at OTM 2026 positions it to capitalize on new opportunities. The collaboration with airlines, hospitality providers, and travel trade partners will be crucial in converting interest into arrivals, supporting sustainable growth for the island’s tourism sector and reinforcing its status as a premier destination in the Indian Ocean region.
