Binter Canarias returns to Senegal and to Morocco
Due to Covid-19, Binter Canarias had suspended its flights to Africa where it served 5 countries. In November 2020, the Spanish private company reconnected with Mauritania.
The reconstruction of its African network continues with its return to Agadir and Dakar.
From April 19, Binter will reopen its routes between the Canary Islands, Morocco and Senegal. In a press release published Thursday, March 11, the private Spanish company announced two monthly flights (Mondays) from the island of Gran Canarias, to Agadir and Dakar. The corridor leading to the Moroccan city will be served by ATR 72 with 70 seats. The one to the Senegalese capital will be operated by Embraer E195-E2 with 132 seats. Both planes are configured in a single class.
"The company activates these routes after improving the health context in the two countries of destination, and with the aim of actively contributing to maintaining connectivity and to the tourist and economic revival of the three territories", explains Binter.
On the Gran Canarias - Agadir axis, Binter will have the monopoly. However, Royal Air Maroc already offers 4 weekly flights between Casablanca and Gran Canarias. On the Gran Canarias - Dakar line, Binter will compete with Swiftair, which already offers 1 flight per week. Once the trips are effective, Binter will find its network of 3 destinations in Africa. The carrier has reconnected with Nouakchott in Mauritania (once every two weeks) since November 2020. Before the crisis, the carrier also served Gambia and Cape Verde.
