Air Seychelles opens seasonal route to Bucharest Air Seychelles opens seasonal route to Bucharest

Air Seychelles continues to return to the international market. With the easing of travel restrictions, the company has resumed its regular services to Israel, India and South Africa.

The airline is now planning a seasonal route between Seychelles and Romania. From April 30, Air Seychelles will open a seasonal route from Bucharest, capital of Romania and the country's most important commercial center, to the Seychelles. The 9-hour flight will be operated without competition via Cairo. Air Seychelles will align its A320neo fleet with 12 seats in business class and 156 in economy class. Open until May 17, the seasonal route should help support tourism and economic growth in Seychelles and further strengthen the link between Bucharest and the Archipelago. The national carrier will also offer additional charter services in August and December on this route.

The company estimates the arrival of more than 500 visitors to Seychelles through this route. “Since the Seychelles reopened to the world, visitors have been looking for destinations that offer easy entry to entry for their travel. Seychelles is becoming an increasingly attractive destination and as a national carrier it is important that we seize business opportunities once available to resume and maintain our operations”, said Remco Althuis, CEO of Air Seychelles. “We are pleased to establish the bridge with Romania through charter opportunities, which will help support tourism, trade and economic development in Seychelles.” Note that the resumption of Air Seychelles commercial flights internationally comes the day after the entry into force of the second and final phase of the total reopening of Seychelles borders to foreigners. At this level, visitors have only one condition to meet, namely to present a negative test for Covid-19, dated less than 72 hours.
